Rosel’s Bakery is named in honor of our Oma, Rosemarie. Growing up in the aftermath of WWII in East Germany she passed through many hardships. She migrated to the United States and began raising her family. Though life never continued to be easy she never forgot what she had lived through. She served everyone and anyone around her, usually taking them something she cooked or baked. Her nickname became Rosel to those closest to her. Each treat she delivered was taken on a yellow plate. This yellow plate became famous through the neighborhood and signified Rosel’s desire to help and serve those around her. A commitment Rosel’s Bakery continues to uphold to this day.
